8 Air Purifying Plants

8 Air Purifying Plants

Americans spend an estimated 90% of their time indoors according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Indoor air, especially in offices and schools, can contain 10x more pollution than outdoor air. This is a consequence of toxic emissions from synthetic building materials, airborne mold, household chemicals, viruses, and pollutants–along with energy efficient construction–making spaces as airtight as possible, i.e. reducing the circulation of air. So it’s no surprise that improved indoor air quality can directly contribute to improved health and productivity. Pregnancy may very well be the perfect time to start thinking about ways to clean up your act when it comes to indoor pollutants. And while you may have already begun searching for an air purifier mid-post, start thinking green.

Indoor plants are not only decorative – they are a sustainable solution for improved indoor air quality. Plants naturally clean your air of toxins and chemicals, and improve your overall well-being.
